Cruelty Investigations:
Each year in California, millions of animals are treated as commodities in an industry where economic priorities, not humane considerations, determine industry practices. This results in the neglectful and often cruel handling that takes place in all aspects of animal agriculture, from production and transporting, to marketing and slaughter.
Farm Animals are living creatures entitled to legal, moral and ethical consideration and protection. Animal Cruelty Investigation’s, (ACI) is committed to the Prevention of Cruelty to Farm Animals through Education, Law Enforcement and Intervention.
Livestock Auction
ACI Case Video coming soon
ACI investigators monitored the pre-auction animal holding areas of a public livestock auction. We observed a young steer with a severed leg which appeared to cause the animal a great deal of pain and discomfort. Attempts were made to alert local area animal services. This animal was allegedly sold at auction while in this visibly injured condition.
Poultry Processing
ACI Case Video coming soon
ACI investigators documented, in clear public view, one delivery worker as he aggressively grabbed and stuffed live chickens into an allegedly over-crowded cage at a Los Angeles poultry processing business. Investigators further documented a live chicken as it roamed freely and ate from the wet, fecal covered floor of the animal receiving area.
Dairy Farming
ACI Case Video coming soon
ACI Investigators documented a downed dairy cow trapped in two feet of water and mud, unable to stand. While maintaining visual contact with the cow, ACI investigators immediately contacted the local area SPCA whose prompt and professional response resulted in the humane euthanizing of the animal by the property owner.
Livestock Cruelty & Neglect
ACI Case Video coming soon
ACI investigators documented inhumane living conditions of beef cattle that were observed in a grazing area strewn with glass wine bottles as well as deceased and decomposing cattle. A worker on the property was informed of these conditions and this individual appeared to immediately herd the animals into a safer area of the farm.
Livestock in Entertainment/Rodeo Productions
ACI Case Video coming soon
ACI Investigators documented the routine aggressive handling of livestock at a Los Angeles County public rodeo. Although no animals were visibly injured, a horse was documented as it fell hard, crashing into corral fencing. The animal appeared stunned momentarily, but eventually stood upright and walked away free of restriction.
